Product Description:

Sometimes extra tension is required to install braided line. To achieve this, we have the Braid Aid Tool. This tool allows you to clamp on the braided line with felt washers to apply infinite pressure. No more burned fingers or need to hold line with a towel. The braid aid works well with Mono also.

This unit comes with a Super Striper that fits into your electric drill and is used to perform many tasks. Simply screw on to a soda bottle, tape the end of line you wish to remove from reel to the bottle and strip it off.  When finished, toss bottle into the recycling bin. If you wish to remove good line and save it place an empty spool on to spool holder and tape line to spool, secure reel and press outer rubber wheel of the Super Striper to spin the empty spool and strip line. Using the Braid Aid, you can also hold the tag end of rigging wire while keeping tension on the spool, preventing the wire from springing off.

The Super Spooler is the perfect tool for light duty bulk spool holding with the ability to apply 1-2 lbs of tension on your line as you respool.  If you need to respool your line more tightly with extra tension, check out our Speed Spoolers, or the Mag Brake for the highest level of tension.

When combined with optional Line Winder Spinning Reel Spool Adapters, the Super Spooler allows you to use your cordless drill to load reel spools quickly, easily, and with the proper tension.

Line winder spinning reel spool adapters sold separately

Unit comes with super striper line removal tool

After a lifetime of using cheap, mass produced solutions for changing line that wobble and don’t adapt well to anything other than standard sizes and configurations of line spools, that work well enough to be slightly better than no tool at all, but not well enough for actually doing what you want to get done, I’d had it. I even looked at multi-hundred dollar, powered systems by known brands, and they were just the same weak, plastic junk as the manual spooling stations with electronic winders. I decided enough was enough. I saw this Spooler from South Chatham Tackle, and I thought, here’s something without gimmicks that looks like a solid piece of equipment that will just work. And you know what? It is. Put on a spool, and everything happens just as you’d expect.

I bought this piece alone for now, because I want to make sure that it really does what I want from it. I appreciate that I can add pieces as I want to make a fuller, more versatile and automated system. I already know I’m going to want the line counter. I’ll add more as I see fit. I’m mostly a bass and musky guy who does freshwater and inshore fly fishing. I don’t need to spook offshore reels for bluefin and marlin. But I’ve got dozens of reels and spoils that require attention and a reliable way of managing line changes. Now I can build up my system to whatever I want or need, and I’m confident that the Super Spooler is the first piece. Thank you for a quality, pragmatic product and system that just about anyone can buy into without anxiety or regret.
